Izzie (7 years old) and Mac (4 years old) have been traveling around the world this fall in their geography curriculum, so these books were a perfect supplement!  Each 8 1/2" X 8 1/2" soft bound book introduces one country and contains many interesting facts with colorful illustrations.  There are between 22-28 pages within each book.  In addition, each book follows the same sequence to present the information.

 What did I like?
  • The colorful illustrations captured both the girls and my attention!  Mac, my non-reader, enjoyed flipping through each book just to look at the pictures!
  • The large text and simple sentences are perfect for beginning readers.
  • The facts are truly interesting and relevant for the recommended age-level.

Happy Halloween!

We headed off to our local nursing home to pass out candy to the residents!

The residents loved seeing the girls all dressed up and really enjoyed the chocolate, but not as much as they enjoyed receiving hugs!

These two little munchkins sure do know how to brighten my day!

Apple Cinnamon Muffins

We woke up to a brisk fall morning and decided to warm up with these DELICIOUS apple cinnamon muffins

We have a ton of apples from apple picking and I was wanting muffins this morning, so off to Pinterest I went!  I love photo recipe browsing on Pinterest.  If the picture catches my eye, then I check to see if I have all the ingredients.  Thankfully, I had all the ingredients this morning...these were the B.E.S.T muffins I have ever made. D.E.L.C.I.O.U.S!

From our local trees to our mouths...

After a morning of apple picking, the girls enjoyed a fresh apple slushie!

Throwback Thursday...Apple Crafts!

Last year, the girls worked on a Bible Timeline notebook.  They created these apple crafts while learning about Adam and Eve.

They started out with a painted canvas.  I learned this blending shade technique when my husband and I attended a date night at our local art gallery!

I found an apple template that I liked and traced it onto the canvas.

Then, using Tacky Glue, the girls outlined the apple with ribbon.

On to the decorating with buttons and glitter!

They topped the apples off with some leftover Christmas decorations.

I love the way each apple turned out!

In addition, they completed an apple tree page for their Bible Timeline notebook, using pencil erasers and a red stamp pad to make the apples.

Lastly, they made a paper collage apple for their Bible Timeline notebook.
