I Spy Quilt

I just completed my first project, I Spy Quilt, on my long list of things that I want to make. I am quiet satisfied with the way it turned out, especially since it's my first completed project using the sewing machine. I got my inspiration from here.

Front of quilt: The squares aren't perfectly lined up and the binding corners were a little tricky.

Back of quilt: I Spy a purple ball...

  3. So cute! I've seen these around, but I don't have a sewing machine. Someday. Did you just make it up or did you use a tutorial from somewhere?

  5. Sheena,

I found my inspiration elsewhere...if you look on my side bar under "Completed Projects" there is a link to where I found the idea. Then, I searched for a tutorial and took bits and pieces of many to make mine. I really had a hard time with the binding and tried to watch several YouTube videos on how to do it...after messing up several times, I ended up taking the quilt down to our locally owned fabric store to get instructions, which was so much more helpful. The binding still isn't perfect...
