The Night of Miracles

"In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria .  And everyone went to his own town to register."

Coins to pay their taxes.

We were so excited to take the girls to a local live nativity, where they could follow Mary and Joseph as they journeyed to Bethlehem and experienced the sights and sounds of The Night of Miracles!

Although, it was much more than just a live nativity, it was an entire production! 

"Guided by a musical track, the story of Jesus’ birth unfolds during which a number of things happen as you join Mary and Joseph on their journey:  see three kings afar off on the hillside, witness the angels’ appearance to the shepherds watching over their sheep, experience village vendors selling their wares to townspeople shopping in the marketplace, chat with the carpenter busy at his trade, and pay your due to the tax collector.  The pageantry culminates by following the procession of the Magi entourage to the manger where they present their gifts to the Christ child.  Making it even more life-like, we have numerous animals, including camels, llamas, goats, horses, a mule, and a flock of sheep grazing on the hillside."

The Night of Miracles was amazing...it truly brought the Christmas story alive!  I can't believe that all involved were volunteers and that it was free admission!
