Storytime From A to Z: Mouse Paint

This particular week at Coop, the Storytime From A to Z letter was "M" and the book was
Mouse Paint, which is favorite in our house!

After reading the book, the girls enjoyed finger painting and mixing colors!
The handout can be found here

Then it was outside to enjoy the beautiful spring weather and to draw with chalk!

The first creation was hop-scotch...always a favorite and always a lot of  giggles!

Many wonderful individual creations too!

Virginia Tech Fans...

We're from Virginia and everyone in my family is a VA Tech fan, except my husband!

My dad was visiting for the weekend and kept sneaking his VA Tech hat on the girls, desperately trying to take a picture!  My husband kept interfering...

Trying to get a thumbs up, but hubby had her do thumbs down!

 Finally, a thumbs up!

*Grandad this post is for you!*

Wordless Wednesday: Family

The girls absolutely love when family comes to visit!  We don't live near any family, so it's always a special treat when they visit!

The girls had a memorable weekend with their Great Aunt!

Priceless memories!

American Heritage Girls

Izzie has had so much fun this year participating in American Heritage Girls.  During the last semester, they focused on honoring our county and community.

I adore the fingerprint star flag and hand-print eagle!

During this particular meeting, they had a very special guest...

A local fireman, who taught them some very valuable fire safety rules!

Planning an escape route and outside meeting location.  Have you done this with your family?
Brilliant idea!  The next day at home, we talked about the different ways out of our house and decided on a safe outside meeting location.
Practicing the correct way to leave...crawling and staying close to the ground.

Izzie learned a lot of valuable information!  And, loved the goodies too!

 Thanks, Mr. Fireman!

During her next AHG meeting, another special guest came...

A local police detective, who also shared many valuable safety tips with the girls!

They loved investigating her police cruiser!

 Checking out the fingerprinting gadget...

And the backseat where the "bad" people sit.  No volunteers to go inside!

Again, the girls learned a lot of safety precautions to help keep them safe!

Thanks to all our local heroes for keeping us safe!

Awana Awards!

Izzie has had the best time participating in Awana this year!  It was truly a blessing!  She was very committed to learn her bible verses each week and was determined to finish the book, which she did!  As well, as the review book and extra credit book!  She's been talking all year about the end of book ribbon and was thrilled to receive it on Sunday evening!  We are so very proud of her!
