stART: Ten Red Apples

This week for our stART project, we read Ten Red Apples.

I made matching story board pieces for Izzie's large felt board. Farmer and most animal pieces are from here and the others were downloaded from Microsoft Word. The tree and apples are made from felt.

Izzie enjoyed having each animal remove an apple from the tree, as I read the story.

Save an apple for me!

  1. That is so cute! I love the flannel story idea of having her animals remove an apple from the tree as you read the story! Great book and excellent art activity!

  3. I really like your blog and the activities you do with your daughter. I do have a question. How do you make the animals stick to the flannel board? Do you print them on paper? I see many sites that use printables for flannel boards but I just can't tell how the "stick" to the board. Thanks for any help.

  4. Jackie...I am so glad that you are enjoying my blog! I print the pictures on cardstock paper, laminate each with contact paper, and then add a small piece of Velcro to the back of each. Velcro works really well. You can buy a roll of it or a pack with smaller pieces at Walmart for around $3. You can also glue felt or sandpaper to the back of each piece too...this works, just not as well as Velcro. Hope this helps!
