Each year, I make a 4x6 spiral bound photo calendar of Izzie to giveaway to grandparents, aunts and uncles. I normally purchase the calendars at Michael's for $1.00. I saw the calendars there around Thanksgiving and for some reason decided not to buy them that day. Well, when I went back to purchase the 12 calendars that I needed...they were SOLD OUT! I checked three different stores and they were sold out at all three. So, I started to panic...I've only made the calendars for the past three years, but it has quickly become a tradition. Luckily, I saw this cute 4x6 Pocket Calendar Kit that Katie at Katie's Nesting Spot used and decided to try it out!
Here are a few that I created...
I really think the new version of our traditional photo calendar turned out great! I was able to purchase the download at half price for only $1.50. I quickly downloaded the kit and uploaded by favorite pictures of Izzie and Mac for each month. I decided to use chronological pictures, so everyone could really see how much Mac has grown and changed during 2009. Once completed, I uploaded the calendar pictures to Target and picked them up in a hour! It was very quick and simple, and each photo calendar (12 pictures) cost only $2.40!
I bought the clear plastic magnetic picture frames that can be placed on the refrigerator (2 for $2.00 at Wal-mart) and placed the January 2010 picture inside of each. I tied a bow around the remaining 11 pictures...so that at the beginning of each the month the previous month picture can be replaced with the new month's picture.
The photo calendar tradition continues...
Super cute! I was thinking that a calendar might be a cute tradition for us to start for the grandparents next year.
