Birthday Parties!

This year was Izzie's first year having a "friends" party! We decided to have the party at Michael's, which was really nice. We had the room for 2 hours, there was an employee to help with the activities, and no clean-up....yes, no clean-up!

Izzie is a HUGE Scooby Doo fan, so she had a Scooby Doo party!

Scooby came to the party too!

This cute little haunted house came from Michael's (little kit that took a lot of patience to put together) and the Scooby/Shaggy topper was found at Walmart in the cake bakery section.

The decorated room.

The girls were a little excited to get started on their first craft project.

I had a small necklace beading activity for the girls to complete while, we waited for everyone to arrive.

Izzie's completed necklace...groovy!

Everyone painted a wooden picture frame...all of the frames were so cute and creative!

While they waited for their frames to dry, we played a game...dropping dog bones into a dog dish. It was much harder than it looks, the bones kept bouncing out!

Lastly, Izzie had a blast opening up presents and eating cake and ice cream!

The following day, we headed to the Zoo to celebrate with family!

Happy 5th Birthday, Izzie! We love you!

Party Crafts!

We've been reading "If You Give A Pig A Party" and celebrating a special little girl's birthday this week! I still can't believe that Izzie is 5 years old!

The girls decorated a birthday cake!

And made a cute tissue paper letter "P" pig!

Math Activities...If You Give A Pig A Party

Here are a few birthday related math activities that Izzie has been working on, while reading the book "If You Give A Pig A Party".

Drawing the correct number of candles on the birthday cake!

Coloring this birthday cake by number.

And, coloring this birthday cake by shapes!

Working math problems with this adorable math mat and candles!

Cutting and pasting the birthday presents in order from largest to smallest.

Spinning and Graphing...one of Izzie's favorite activities!

Oh, yeah! Another spinning and graphing activity!

Not only does she love spinning and graphing, just loves rolling and graphing too! Have I mentioned that she really, really enjoys graphing?

Counting the birthday number clip cards.

And, of course she played several math games from The Mailbox!

Simple addition

Putting numbers 1-20 in correct order

Be sure to check out the phonics activities that Izzie completed for the book "If You Give A Pig A Party"....and, there are some free printables, too!

If You Give A Pig A Party with Printables!

We're still celebrating Izzie's birthday...so, we read "If You Give A Pig A Party".

She played several games from The Mailbox. I absolutely love these books! And, I love that each game comes with an assessment worksheet to complete after the game/concept.

Reviewing beginning sounds "d, f, and h", while helping the birthday princess!

Reviewing color words with birthday balloons!

She reviewed her newest sight word "this" and color words with a cut and paste activity.

I found this birthday emergent reader, which was great for her to review her previous sight words " I, see, a".

In addition, I found this Counting Emergent Reader, which was great to review sight words too! Shannon at Kindergarten Hoppeninings has a TON of FREE birthday printables!! I

She also completed the beginning sound clip cards and 3-part cards from Homeschool Creations.

We're having so much fun during her birthday week! It helps that I've been able to find so many great birthday theme ideas!
