More Space Printables...

Oops, I meant to post these with the Space Unit, but forgot!

To review the -at family, -an family, and -am family words...she completed this activity!

She would pick an object, sound out the word, write the word, then color the corresponding object the correct color.

Astronaut -at family words

Alien -an family words

Space Rocket -am family words

For more writing practice and sight word reading, she completed the activity...

Same concept, just different sight words...

Montessori Solar System

The girls have been learning a lot about Space! Their favorite activity has been playing with this Montessori inspired solar system that I made! Izzie can distinguish each planet by their physical appearance and she's learning a few simple facts about each. By playing with these felt planets, she's learned the correct sequence of the planets, starting from the sun!

LinkSolar System created from fabric and felt.

Space with the Sun
I decided to glue the sun on the black fabric, instead of sewing. Unfortunately, where the fabric is thin, the glue is visible.

Mercury

Venus

Earth

Mars

Jupiter

Saturn

Uranus

Neptune

Solar System with a silly Alien!!

Izzie enjoyed matching up the solar system flashcards (Target dollar aisle) to the correct planet.

I'm very pleased with the way the solar system turned out and love that the girls are having a blast playing and learning with it!

Alien Activities and Printables

To stay with the Space Theme, Izzie has been learning a little about aliens!

For fun, she completed this alien space craft peel and stick artwork. This is perfect to help strengthen her little finger muscles! Excellent fine motor work!

This is a really cute book!

Review from Amazon:

It's a totally zany story with some of the silliest illustrations to appear in many seasons--which is to say that Aliens Love Underpants will be a surefire hit among toddlers and beginning readers. When little aliens fly down to Earth, they don't come to visit because they want to meet the Earthlings. They simply want to steal everybody's underpants! They like them large or small, they like them red or green--and they like them in all other sizes and colors, too. They think that Mom's pink, frilly panties are a perfect place to hide. And Grandpa's woolly long johns make a super-whizzy slide! The text is in verse, the illustrations are big and bright, and kids who open this book will giggle from first page to last.

In addition, she is learning to identify coins and learn their values. I saw a green foam dice with coins attached to it at a local teacher store, which would work perfect with this activity. Of course, at the time, I wasn't sure what to do with it, so I didn't buy it and can't find it anywhere on line! Instead, I just put a handful of change in a small bucket and had Izzie draw out a coin, identity it, say it's value, then dot it on the graph.
